BRIANOur Listening Ear project is run by trained volunteers, many of whom have been carers themselves.

The project provides informal and confidential support to unpaid carers who are suffering bereavement, loss, anxiety, depression and isolation or just need someone to talk to.

At Sefton Carers Centre we offer a free and confidential service to help you deal with the day-to-day stresses of your caring role.

In order to access all of our services for free you will need to register with us. By providing us with your details you will receive information which is tailored to your needs. We will make appointments to call you so that you don’t have to worry about phone bills.

Your Listening Ear volunteer will:

• Contact you on a regular basis at a time to be agreed between you (office hours) that is suitable and convenient

• Provide emotional support and listen to you impartially and without judgement

• Provide information on Sefton Carers Centre services and signpost you to relevant help, where possible.

For more information please get in touch on 0151 288 6060 or via our contact page here.

All volunteers and staff are bound by a legal duty of confidentiality to protect any personal information they may come into contact with. However, if there is a concern for someone’s safety then volunteers will refer to the Sefton Carers Centre Safeguarding Lead Officer.

Volunteers are not allowed to share their personal details, make recommendations for services or make contact outside the agreed day and times.

Do you have a family member, partner or friend who needs ongoing care or support with day-to-day life?
